Yukon Provincial Nominee Program

A Comprehensive Guide On Yukon Provincial Nominee Program

Famous for the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1890s, Yukon is one of the fastest-growing provinces with its capital city Whitehorse developing at a massive pace. The economy is composed primarily of mining and tourism and is an ideal place to settle for new immigrants who value closely-knit communities and the great outdoors.

If you have the in-demand skills and experience, you can get a nomination to apply for permanent residence through Yukon’s Provincial Nominee Program, officially called the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP). A Yukon Provincial Nominee Certificate will add 600 points to your Canada PR application and will speed up your Permanent Resident Visa application process.

In this article, we will cover:

Overview of Yukon Provincial Nominee Program (YPNP)

The Yukon Nominee Program (YPNP) started in 2002 to attract more immigrants. The YNP targets skilled foreign workers who can take up a full time skilled job at Yukon and businesspersons who can create permanent full time skilled jobs and give a boost to the overall economy.

Yukon Express Entry (YEE) program – This stream is for foreign skilled workers with a valid job offer for permanent, full-time skilled work in Yukon who wish to live and settle permanently in Yukon.

Yukon Skilled Worker program – This stream is for foreign skilled workers sponsored by a Yukon employer for Canadian permanent residence. In order to be eligible under this stream, you must be working in a NOC Level 0, A or B job.

Critical Impact Worker program – This stream is for semi-skilled or unskilled workers who possess an in-demand skill and are sponsored by a Yukon employer. You must have a valid job offer and you do not need to be in Yukon when you apply.

Business Nominee program – This stream is for those who wish to start a new business, buy or partner with an existing business.

Yukon Community Pilot – This program provides a special work permit to those who are already nominated under Yukon Nominee Program and lets them work for multiple employers in one of the Yukon communities.
